In 1998 Hugo Chavez was elected president of Venezuela. He proved to be a tough, visionary socialist leader – which is why the country’s establishment power structure wanted him deposed as quickly as possible.
When Chavez was forcibly removed from office by a coup in April 2002, two Irish independent filmmakers were already inside the presidential palace making a documentary about him.
This film, then, is the outcome of their extraordinary access to world-changing events as they unfolded
